Shell-ebrating spring: Lobster Hatch set to reopen at Swanwick Marina
A firm favourite for diners across Hampshire, the Lobster Hatch is back this weekend at Boathouse Swanwick after its winter hibernation – refreshed, fully stocked and ready for waterside dining. With temperatures likely to soar this weekend, the Lobster Hatch is set to reopen at Swanwick Marina on Friday 24th April for its fourth spring and summer season of outdoor dining beside the River Hamble.
Ahead of reopening, a £5,000 investment has been made to upgrade grills and kitchen equipment, as well as introduce a new coffee machine, allowing the venue to offer takeaway coffees at weekends. Visitors will once again enjoy a mix of locally sourced seafood dishes, classic favourites, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, whether stopping by after a stroll or settling in for a laid-back afternoon.
For its opening weekend, the Lobster Hatch will be serving from 3-8pm on Friday, followed by 10am-8pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Looking ahead to summer, the offering will expand further from June with the introduction of a brunch menu served between 10am-12pm. Adding to the atmosphere, guests can also enjoy DJ sets across the weekend, with music from 5-10pm on Friday and 1-6pm on Saturday. With front-row views across the marina, it’s set to become, once again, a go-to spot for soaking up the sun and atmosphere over the coming months.
Oliver Weeks, Managing Director of Ideal Collection, said, “The weather for this weekend looks promising, so there’s a real sense of anticipation around reopening the Lobster Hatch this Friday. “It’s always a key moment for us as it signals the start of the season, not just for the team but for our guests too. After the winter months, people are really looking for those opportunities to spend time outdoors, catch up with friends and enjoy good food in a more informal setting. “We’ve also invested in new grills and equipment ahead of reopening, which will allow the team to deliver an even stronger food offering throughout the season. “We’ve seen the Lobster Hatch become a real favourite over the years, and we’re excited to welcome people back for another summer at Swanwick Marina.”
