Hatch-ing a new season: Lobster Hatch set to reopen at Chichester Marina
Banish the winter blues, ditch the coats and kick-start the return of outdoor dining in Chichester this Good Friday, as the much-loved Lobster Hatch at Chichester Marina reopens for spring and summer. A firm favourite for diners across Chichester and West Sussex, the Hatch is back at Boathouse Chichester after its winter hibernation – refreshed, fully stocked and ready for waterside dining, with opening dependent on favourable weather conditions.
Over the long weekend, visitors can enjoy seafood dishes, burgers and drinks from the Hatch while taking in views across the marina. The outdoor space offers a relaxed spot for both marina visitors and local residents to gather as the weather brightens. The outdoor pizza oven will also return for special events throughout the warmer months, offering freshly made pizzas and adding to the variety of food available throughout the weekend.
Opening times will vary across the weekend, with the hatch serving from 4-8pm on Friday and 12-8pm on both Saturday and Sunday. The pizza oven will be available on bank holiday Sundays from 12-6pm. Sean Murphy, Venue Operations Manager at Boathouse Chichester, said: “We always look forward to this time of year when the Lobster Hatch reopens and the marina starts to come alive again. “The Easter Bank Holiday is a great opportunity for people to enjoy good food, music and the waterside setting. We’re excited to welcome guests back as we kick off another summer by the marina!”
Its Locals’ Night will head outdoors for the first time this year on Good Friday, with live music from Chichester musician Alex Stockman from 6pm at the Lobster Hatch, weather permitting. On Easter Sunday, DJ Zig will perform a live set from 2-5pm, providing music for guests spending the afternoon by the marina.
Inside the restaurant, diners will also have the opportunity to enjoy the final Sunday roasts before they pause for the summer months. A new menu for spring and summer is set to launch in the coming weeks. Boathouse Chichester is one of five venues operated by Ideal Collection across Hampshire and West Sussex. The group also includes Boathouse Swanwick in Swanwick Marina, Kimbridge Barn in Romsey, The White Horse in Otterbourne and The Bugle in Hamble.
